Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No. You do not need a doctor’s referral for an appointment and treatment at Lifeway Physiotherapy.

What do I need to bring to my first visit?

Please bring along any referrals, x-ray or scan results relating to your injury, as well as a Medicare, pension card or health insurance card if applicable.  Please arrive 10 mins prior to your initial appointment to complete a Physiotherapy Registration Form at the reception desk.

How long is a treatment session?

An initial physiotherapy appointment includes thorough assessment and treatment of your injury and will take up to 30 minutes. Subsequent appointments take up to 20 minutes.

Can I use my private health to pay for my visit?

Yes. At Lifeway Physiotherapy we provide HICAPS facility for you to claim your private health rebates at the time of consultation when you bring your current health insurance card and have the appropriate extra’s option.  We regret that the full fee will be charged if you do not have your health insurance card at the time of visit - You can subsequently take the receipt to claim your rebate online or at your health fund store.

What are your opening hours?

Lifeway is open:

8am-7pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am-12pm (Sat)

We are closed on Public holidays.

What if I missed my appointment?

After you have attended your initial appointment, you will receive an SMS reminder on your mobile phone for your up-coming appointment.  Please provide 24 hours notice for any cancellations to avoid being charged a cancellation fee.  

Do you treat Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) patients?***

Yes.  Lifeway physiotherapists are able to treat DVA patients with a current doctor’s referral (valid for 12 months).

Do you treat workers compensation patients?***

Yes. Lifeway physiotherapists are able to treat work cover patients who provide a doctor’s work cover certificate indicating referral to physiotherapy and letter of acceptance of liability from insurer. Please ensure these documents are emailed to admin@lifewayphysio.com.au and triaged by our reception team to avoid being charged a private fee at the time of your consult.

Do you treat Transport Accident Commission (TAC) patients?***

Yes. Lifeway physiotherapists are able to treat TAC patients who provide a letter of approval of physiotherapy services with a valid claim number from TAC.  Please ensure these documents are emailed to admin@lifewayphysio.com.au and triaged by our reception team to avoid being charged a private fee at the time of your consult.

Do you treat Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) / Medicare patients?***

Yes. Lifeway physiotherapists can treat eligible patients with a valid EPC plan and referral to physiotherapy.  

Do you bulk bill?

Lifeway Physiotherapy is a Physiotherapy practice under the private sector.  An out-of-pocket fee will apply after you have claimed your EPC rebate for physiotherapy session.  Please ensure EPC documents are emailed to admin@lifewayphysio.com.au and triaged by our reception to assist with your rebate claims.
